A General Contractor (GC) is a person or a company responsible for overseeing a construction project from the design phase to compleƟon. All GCs should be licensed and insured. AccuBuild Development, Inc. is licensed in the City of Chicago for projects up to $2 million and holds a GC license for non-Chicago projects. We maintain yearly insurance coverage for general liability, automobile, and workers' compensaƟon, each with a minimum of $1 million in coverage.
What Does A General Contractor Do?
A GC is responsible for providing materials and labor needed for a construcƟon project. For tasks like a simple bathroom remodel, a GC hires skilled subcontractors such as carpenters, plumbers, electricians, etc. Our relaƟonships with veƩed, licensed, and insured subcontractors ensure the expected quality of work on AccuBuild Development, Inc.'s projects.
What Are Your Service Areas?
AccuBuild Development, Inc. is based out of Wilmette, IL. The majority of our projects are located in the northern and northwest suburbs of Illinois including Wilmette, Winnetka, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe, Highland Park, Deerfield, Glenview, Northbrook, Arlington Heights and Palatine; however, we have also completed projects as far north as Wadsworth and as far west as St. Charles. We also perform multiple projects in the city of Chicago each year.
Are You Licensed And Insured?
Yes! AccuBuild Development, Inc. maintains yearly insurance coverage for general liability, automobile, and workers' compensation, with a minimum of $1 million in coverage for each. Our subcontractors also have similar insurance policies. We are licensed in the City of Chicago for projects up to $2 million and hold a GC license for non-Chicago projects.
Do I Need A Permit?
For new construction and additions, a permit is necessary, usually issued by the village or county. Remodeling requirements vary; contact us to discuss your project. Choosing AccuBuild Development, Inc. as your GC means we handle all permits in-house for full compliance.
When Should A General Contractor Be Hired?
Depending on the project type, a GC can be brought in at different planning stages. For new construction or additions, engage a licensed architect, then approach a GC with plans. For remodeling, contact us, and we'll guide you through the next steps.
When Should A General Contractor Be Hired?
This is very specific depending on the scope of the project. A simple bathroom remodel can take between 4-5 weeks while building a new custom home can take between 9-12 months. Contact us to discuss your project. When we provide you with an estimate, we will also include our estimated timeframe for project completion.
How Do I Find Out How Much My Project Will Cost?
